Credit Recovery

Polo Park Middle School Credit Recovery
7-Day Summer Program (FY18)

Expectations:

1. Students will have seven days to complete one or more 9-weeks course(s) from date-of-entry on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Failure to complete all of their required courses by the close of the day on June 14, 2018 may result in grade level retention. After June 14, 2018, the courses will no longer be available and no further grade changes will be made.
2. Inappropriate behaviors will result in a suspension from the course and/or the program. Disruptive behaviors include: surfing any website other than Edgenuity (the MSCR program), tardiness, and any type of inappropriate decorum. Listening to music during MSCR is not permitted as the program requires the students to have access to audio.
3. If a student is removed from the MSCR program, he/she will not receive additional time to complete the 9-weeks course(s) which may result in grade level retention.

Dates and Times:
Credit Recovery will run from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. from Tuesday, June 5, 2018 through Thursday, June 14, 2018 (see the dates below – THERE ARE NO FRIDAYS). Once a student has completed all of the courses required for promotion, they are released from the program and no longer need to attend. They will receive a certificate when all of their courses have been completed. Not all students will be required to attend for the full seven days depending on their grades and individual progress.

Transportation:
Transportation to/from the 7-day summer program is the responsibility of the student’s parent/guardian. There is no bus transportation available this summer due to budget constraints. Students should be dropped off at 8:00 a.m. and picked up promptly at 3:30 p.m.

Breakfast and Lunch:
Breakfast is free for all students daily. Lunch is based on the student’s status during the regular school year. Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch will also qualify for free/reduced lunch in the summer. If not, students should plan to buy their lunch or pack one from home.

Guidelines for Promotion and Retention:
• For a student to be promoted to the next grade level, he/she needs to earn a total of four or more quality points in each core subject area.
